About the Mix

OBX Bloody Mix was born from a shared passion. Company founders, Danny and Michelle Donahue, were college friends and roommates who embarked on a long-distance relationship after graduation.

They always loved starting their days together with a well-crafted bloody mary, and when apart, they dreamed of the perfect blend of ingredients to mirror their own compatibility. As a gesture of affection, Danny sent Michelle a “bloody mary care package” from North Carolina to Colorado.

Those 18 ingredients were the foundation of OBX Bloody Mix and the start of a future for the happy couple. Now, it is their honor to share their labor of love with locals and visitors alike.

About the Ingredients

A truly great bloody mary mix requires more than just tomato paste, water, and horseradish.

At OBX Bloody Mix, we believe that premium ingredients are essential for a perfectly balanced mix. Every ingredient, from the herbaceous dill in the pickle juice to the subtle notes of the watercress, plays a vital role in our recipe. The result is a mix with a taste and texture that is sure to delight any bloody mary enthusiast.

    About The Makers

    Danny and Michelle were born and raised “upriver” in Pasquotank and Perquimans County in northeast NC.

    They met in the Outer Banks in the summer of 1999 and years later attended the same college in Raleigh, NC. They became fast friends and eventually roommates but weren’t romantically involved until years later.

    They now live in Nags Head with their two sons, three dogs, and their cat and love calling the Outer Banks home.
